Amy was abandoned at birth and spent 10 years in a government operated orphanage. She was born with epichrosis leucasmus, a condition which causes the skin to be blotchy and the hair to turn gray. She was very withdrawn and suspicious of people when she arrived at our home, but she quickly responded to the love and acceptance she felt here and blossomed into the happy, outgoing child she is today. Amy has made good progress in her studies, and has learned to care about others. She likes to dance.
