As a member of this organization, I wanted to learn more about child sponsorship and the impact it has on the children and donors. Many people are skeptical of child sponsorship programs because they do not see an impact right away. The significance of child sponsorship is that the impact is not evident until they are older.

There was a research study done on the effects of child sponsorship in six different countries for the large organization, Compassion International. The research was done by a well-known economist and professor at the University of San Francisco with assistance from two of his students. The results were astonishing and promising.

"Overall, sponsorship makes children 27 to 40 percent more likely to complete secondary school, and 50 to 80 percent more likely to complete a university education."

  • 14 to 18 percent more likely to have salaried employment
  • Roughly 35 percent more likely to secure white-collar employment as adults

Compassion International and Living Hope International have a similar vision and hope that children will be provided with opportunities that they believed they would never have.

Hope is a driving force in children's hearts because when they are older, they realize that the opportunities that came into their life after sponsorship resulted in giving them a new path. The success stories from our children are true examples of hope and sponsorship thriving in their lives.
